Order:
In the G.O. 1st read above, the Andhra Pradesh Study of Languages in School Education Rules, 2003 were issued for implementation of three language formula from then Academic Year, 2003 – 04.
2. In the G.O. 2nd read above, orders were issued that all the other laws, including those made under the adapted Acts, specified in column (4) of the Second Schedule, which were in existence as on 2.6.2014, but not adapted as on the date of this Order, shall be deemed to have been adapted to the State of Telangana.
3. In the letter 3rd read above, the Secretary, Minorities Welfare (Estt.I) Department, has requested to issue necessary orders for providing option of studying Urdu as 2nd Language to those Muslim Community students of Telangana Minorities Residential Schools, who are opting Telugu as 1st Language and English as 3rd Language.
4. In the letter 4th read above, the Commissioner and Director of School Education, Telangana, Hyderabad has proposed an amendment to the G.O.Ms.No.86 Education (SEC& TBP) Department dated 02.07.2003 duly incorporating the provision of study for the English Medium students, permitting ‘Urdu’ as ‘Second’ Language from Classes VI to X, for those who are opting ‘Telugu’ as ‘First’ Language and ‘English’ as ‘Third’ Language.
5. The Government after careful examination of the said proposal of the Commissioner and Director of School Education, Telangana, Hyderabad, have decided to issue the following amendment to the Rules mentioned in the G.O. 1st read above.
6. Accordingly, the following Notification will be published in the Gazette of Telangana State.
NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 read with section 99 of the Telangana Education Act, 1982 (Act 1 of 1982), the Government of Telangana hereby makes the following amendment to the Telangana Study of Languages in School Education Rules, 2003:-
Amendment
In the said Rules, the following amendment shall be made to Rule 2 (II) (b) (i) of G.O.Ms.No.86, Education (SE–C&TBP) Department, dt.02.07.2003
For: Hindi in the case of students who have taken Telugu as First Language
Read:Hindi/Urdu, as may be opted, in the case of students who have taken Telugu as First Language
