Sub: State Functions - Republic Day Celebrations, 2018 - Pattern Celebrations in Districts — Further Instructions — Issued-Reg.

In continuation of the instructions issued in the reference cited informing that the Government of Telangana has decided to celebrate the Republic Day on 26th January, 2018 throughout the State in a befitting manner.
2. The Chief Secretary has informed that the programme on this occasion in the new Districts may be broadly based on the pattern of celebrations in the Original District with due modification as per local requirements.
3. Further, as already instructed in the reference cited, the Collectors & District Magistrates will unfurl the National Flag at the main programme and the Police shall Salute at the Ceremonial Parade (to be arranged in coordination with the SP’s of the District) , in which the NCC Boys/Girls and Home Guards shall participate besides Scouts and Guides. National Anthem will be played by the Police Band and the Collector and District Magistrate will address the gathering highlighting the achievements of the State and in particular of the District. Invitations card or circular for the function should be extended to the local prominent Officials and non-Officials as per procedure. Tableaux, PT and sports display etc., may also be organized if feasible. Presentation of awards and certificates can also be done.
4. The Collectors and District Magistrates are requested to conduct required Coordination meetings with all the Officials concerned in connection with the arrangements to be made with the Republic Day Celebrations -2018, especially with the HODs of the following departments.
a. Police Department: To plan the main programme and ensure flag hoisting. organize the parade and other ceremonial arrangements at the venue.
b. R&B Department: To coordinate for erecting of Shamianas and arranging of chairs and leveling the parade ground etc., at the function site.
c. I&PR Department: To arrange for Public address system, media coverage and other connected requirements at the RDC-2018 Parade.
d. TRA.NSCO: To arrange for uninterrupted power supply and also Standby generator.
e. Municipality / Local Body: To arrange for supply of drinking water and mobile or temporary toilets as necessary at the site.
f. DMHO: To arrange a counter for medical aid with Duty Doctors and staff for covering the function.
g. DEO: Arrangements are to be made for providing refreshment to the school children attending the RDC-2018 as participants or spectators.
5. The Districts are informed to conduct Rehearsals at the site to synchronize the arrangements. The Joint Collector concerned shall attend the Rehearsals along with the concerned HOD of the departments noted above.
6. The request for Funds for the Republic Day Celebrations -2018 would be examined by the Govt., separately.
7. The Collector and District Magistrate may visit Orphanages, Social Welfare Hostels, Old Age Homes Jails etc. as per instructions issued in para 4 of reference cited, after the main flag hoisting Programme.
8. All the Collectors and District Magistrates are requested to arrange documentation of the function including photographs and videography of the whole function and forward the same to the Govt., for reference and record.
9. All the above instructions may be followed with local modification as per local conditions as deemed necessary by the Collector and District Magistrate concerned.
